W. Glenn Burns maintains his law practice in his New Orleans office. With 48 years of litigation experience in white collar criminal defense, class action defense, toxic tort defense, wrongful death actions, defense of electrical contact cases, maritime personal injury defense, professional malpractice, qui tam (whistleblower) claims and litigation of numerous other complex matters.

As an active white collar criminal defense attorney, he has extensive experience in internal investigations for major corporations in the fields of construction, shipbuilding, aerospace, maritime, insurance and national and local medical institutions when their companies come under the scrutiny of investigative and regulatory agencies. He has defended individuals and companies to verdict in both state and federal criminal matters including bankers, public figures and businessmen.

As a former state and federal prosecutor, he has been involved in prosecutions of a judge, a city councilman, a police chief, bank presidents, and, in "The Algiers Seven", policemen for violation of civil rights.

As a member of Monroe & Leman, involved in representation of public utilities before the New Orleans City Council, the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and defending power companies in personal injury and death claims from contact with electrified facilities. He also conducted internal, parallel investigations of public companies undergoing federal criminal investigations.

As an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Louisiana led investigations and prosecutions of federal crimes. Crimes included postal thefts, firearms smuggling, bank defalcations, ponzi-type banking schemes, mail fraud and civil rights violations. During final year as Deputy Chief of the Civil Division defended government agencies including for medical malpractice.
